DNA. What is it?
We’ll first look at the composition of DNA. The building blocks are deoxynucleotides, each composed of a central deoxyribose, a nitrogenous base (purine (A, G) or pyrimidine (T, U, C)), and a phosphate. While in the nucleic acid, the sugar-phosphate bonds are calledphosphodiester bonds.
The structure of DNA is stuff pounded into your head in every biology class since freshman Biology. right handed helix, double-stranded, anti-parallel.
